Q: What do you do at Natech?

I’m the director of operations and continual improvement at Natech.

Q: What are your goals for Natech?

One of my main jobs is implementing IQMS, which is a tool that’s used to facilitate data-based decision making. My ultimate goal is to grow the company with IQMS and exceed expectations of our customers.

Q: What is the most useful thing you have learned at Natech?

All the knowledge from the ground-up, from the production floor to sales.

Q: What is something that most people might not know about you?

I used to have a Portuguese name, which was João. Nobody could ever pronounce it, so I changed my name when I was naturalized and turned 18.

I came here when I was a year old with my parents. My parents always had a “you can always do better” mentality. Every time I left the house, my mom would say “do good” and that stuck with me.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

I like racing cars. My goal is to compete in high performance driving events and get my competition license.

I always had a passion for cars and the engineering behind it. My father wouldn’t let me become a mechanic, so I became a mechanical engineer. We always had junk cars and now I have junk cars at my house that I want to fix up for the track or use to follow through with one of my dream projects.

I love to stay home in the garage, listen to techno music, and play with my two girls. I even souped-up one of their power wheels.

Q: If you could have any wish granted, what would it be?

I would give my kids every opportunity that they could have and want. And get my wife whatever she wants.

Q: What’s one thing that you can’t live without?

Music, because music has the ability to change your mood.

Q: What’s your favorite part about working at Natech?

I like how people can see the results of their efforts, whether it’s designing the actual parts, planning and scheduling, delivering to the customer on time, or making people feel more confident in their jobs. From process to IQMS, I like making people feel confident and making sure others are confident in them.

Q: What is your proudest achievement while working here?

Last month, we had record sales for Natech, which was a great achievement for us.

Q: What motivates you to do what you do?

Helping people get what they want. Also, I always want to be the best version of myself. I tell myself that I’m always working; I’m always working to be a better father, a better husband, a better co-worker and a better man.

Q: What are your favorite Natech memories?

Since I first joined, it’s great to see how I impacted people and see how much the company has grown. I’m blessed to be apart of the beginning and it’s cool to see the entire organization grow. I feel like Natech was always apart of me. It’s always nice to see the results of the time and effort I put in, before and now.

Q: What are three traits that define you?

1. Open 2. Problem-solving 3. Motivated. I always try to be motivated and try to motivate others. And I love when people are able to motivate me.

Q: What are three traits that define Natech?

1. Hard-working 2. Problem-solving 3. The can-do attitude from everyone here.
