Yolanda Hurtado started her career at Natech as a Machine Operator, transitioned to a Lead Operator, and worked her way up to her current title as Quality Control Inspector. As a QC Inspector, Yolanda performs inspections of products, assemblies, and received materials.

This year marks her 20th anniversary at Natech. She is an essential piece of the Quality Team and is always motivated and motivating others to work hard. We are lucky to have her and want to thank her for everything she has done!

Q: What do you do at Natech?

A: I work in quality control and support my team on the production floor.

Q: What’s your favorite part about working at Natech? 

A: I love to work in quality because I like to check and inspect the pieces. I also get to learn every day. I love the challenge of learning the drawings and learning how to look for all the dimensions.

Q: What is something that most people might not know about you? 

A: Most people might not know that I grew up in a poor part of Ecuador. I used to run a business, selling clothes and shoes. I was a businesswoman. And I left because I wanted my children to have a better education.

Q: How did you start your career in manufacturing?

A: Since I came to America, I started working here at Natech. It’s totally different. I used to buy and sell products, but at Natech, we make everything from scratch.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? 

A: I like to spend time with my family and go on vacations. We like to watch action movies and melodramas together. And we like to cook barbeque.

Q: What motivates you? 

A: My motivation is my family. I have my parents and my five children, two sets of twins. I am motivated by the life that I have and I owe this to God. Also, I’m motivated by my weekly check.

Q: What are your favorite Natech memories?

A: Around Christmas time when we have the Christmas parties with the whole team, because we’re all together and we get to know each other.

Q: What’s one thing that you can’t live without? 

A: I can’t live without work and my job. And my coffee (medium toasted Columbian coffee).

Q: What are three traits that define you?

A: Punctual, strict, and I make what I do come true.

Q: What are three traits that define Natech?

A: This company tries to give the best quality to the customer. They make the employees feel good and support them. And they care about the employees.

Q: What is your proudest achievement while working here?

A: Learning more about quality every single day. I’ve learned a lot about the Smartscope. I like to work with parts and it makes me happy to work in a group. It’s an environment where we work together and respect each other.

¿Qué es lo que más le gusta trabajar en Natech?

Me encanta trabajar en calidad porque me gusta revisar e inspeccionar las piezas. También puedo aprender todos los días. Me encanta el desafío de aprender los dibujos y aprender a buscar todas las dimensiones.

¿Qué es algo que la mayoría de la gente no sabe sobre usted?

Es posible que la mayoría de la gente no sepa que crecí en una parte pobre de Ecuador. Solía tener un negocio, vendiendo ropa y zapatos. Yo era una mujer de negocios. Y me fui porque quería que mis hijos tuvieran una mejor educación.

¿Cómo comenzó su carrera en la fabricación?

Desde que vine a Estados Unidos, comencé a trabajar aquí en Natech. Es totalmente diferente. Solía comprar y vender productos, pero en Natech hacemos todo desde cero.

¿Qué le gusta hacer en su tiempo libre?

Me gusta pasar tiempo con mi familia e ir de vacaciones. Nos gusta ver películas de acción y melodramas juntos. Y nos gusta cocinar barbacoa.

¿Qué le motiva a despertarle e ir a trabajar?

Me motiva mi familia. Tengo a mis padres y a mis cinco hijos, dos pares de gemelos. Me motiva la misma vida que tengo y esto se lo debo a Dios. También me motiva a tener mi cheque semanal.

¿Cuáles son tus recuerdos favoritos de Natech?

Alrededor de la época navideña cuando tenemos las fiestas navideñas con todo el equipo, porque estamos todos juntos y nos conocemos.

¿Cuál es una de las cosas sin las que no puede vivir?

No puedo vivir sin trabajo y sin mi trabajo. Y mi café (café colombiano tostado medio).

¿Cuáles son los tres rasgos que le definen?

Puntualidad, ser estricta, hacer que se cumpla lo que ago.

¿Cuáles son los tres rasgos que definen a Natech?

Esta compañía trata de dar la mejor calidad al cliente, hace que los trabajadores se sientan bien. Apoyo al trabajador. Se preocupan por el trabajador.

¿Cuál es su logro más orgulloso mientras trabajaba aquí?

Aprender cada día más en lo que es de calidad. Aprendí mucho sobre Smartscope. Me gusta trabajar con piezas y me hace feliz trabajar en grupo. Es un entorno en el que trabajamos juntos y nos respetamos unos a otros.
